March 19, 2014 - The Toronto Real Estate Board announced today the residential sales statistics for the first 2 weeks of March.
The report showed that overall sales of homes were virtually unchanged compared to the same 2 weeks of 2013 [3,459 this year versus 3,464 last year].
Sales of Detached homes fell 2.2% in Toronto, but rose 3.6% in the "905". As for average selling price, that fell in the 416 by one half of one percent for the Detached category to $902,425, but the average rose 6% in the 905 to $638,555.
Sales of Condo Apartments fell in both areas, off 4.3% in Toronto and off 7.3% in the balance of the GTA, though average selling price rose 8.3% to $399,207 in the former and rose 4.9% to $288,682 in the latter.
While TREB does not include a figure for Total Active Listings in it's mid-month reports, the number of newly listed properties for the period fell from 7,022 last year to 6,351 in the first two weeks of March this year.
