Toronto Real Estate Statistics - October 2012

 

 

November 3rd, 2012 - October sales statistics were released today by the Toronto Real Estate Board and reflected a similar pattern to the last couple of months, namely, a decrease in the number of units sold while average prices continued to rise.

Unit sales were off 7.1% versus the year-earlier period, though average price rose 6.2% to $503,479.

TREB's Jason Mercer notes that "...the annual rate of price increase has been edging lower over the past few months as the market has gradually become better supplied."

New Listings were up 6.1% year-over-year, but Active Listings were up 16.5%.

Average time to sell...Days on Market ["DOM"] rose from 26 to 28.

Prices in all areas and for all home types rose, with the exception of 416-area condos which fell 2%.

Sales of Detached homes fell 7% in the 416, but only 1% in the 905 while condo sales fell 14% in the 416 and 20% in the 905.
